An exhibition within the framework of the international art project "Hotel de Inmigrantes". Interventios on real-time basis taking place in the residential project space "Stadtteilleben"
04.09.2013 - 22.09.2013 / Wohnprojekt Stadtteilleben, Hannover

Crossing Space ties in with the world wide touring concept of “Hotel de Inmigrantes” which Kunsthalle Faust realised on the premises of the residential project “Stadtteilleben”. One of the ideas of this concept is to have international artist taking on the role of immigrants for ten days to allow the visitors to get an insight of the artists’ ways of working and living.

Crossing Space invites artists and curators from across the world to retrace the way of an immigration as a temporary intermediate occupier settling in the Albert Schweitzer Schule and to permeate the space artistically during a reconstruction period. All under the eyes and participation of the public the exhibition is emerging whilst it is being visited. In this vein the project is additionally functioning as a pilot experiment in terms of town planning, it becomes a shared space for experimentation in real-time where artists can push and blur the boundaries of living and working, privacy and the public and temporarily rededicating a public space.

Involved artists:
Arun Kumar (India), Hagit Barkai (Israel), Yosef Joseph Dadoune (Israel), Maria Fieseler-Roschat (Germany), Marlon Griffith (Japan/Trinidad and Tobbago), Liu Guangyun (China), Helmut Hennig (Germany), Susanne Hoffmann (Germany), Adam Kalinowski (Poland), Manuela Lalic (Canada), Shahar Marcus (Israel), Roy Menachem Markovich (Israel), Simon Morley (Great Britain), Maciej Olszewski (Poland), Christiane Oppermann (Germany), Maciej Rudzin (Poland), Slawomir Sobczak (Poland), Till Steinbrenner und Lotte Lindner (Germany), Tomasz Wendland (Poland), Koen Vanmechelen (Belgium), Alvin P.
