Annual reception at the new "Kunstverein Kunsthalle Hannover e.V." Auction and exhibition project with Lower-Saxon artists.
10.01.2014 - 12.01.2014 / Kunsthalle Faust

The new foundation of the “Kunstverein Kunsthalle Hannover e.V.” focusses and establishes a dialogue-platform for artists and people who are interested in art. This platform is eager to expand the cultural spectrum of the regional capital with its future-orientated theme-exhibition in an international context.

With the Annual reception, we would like to celebrate this new start as a proper event. Refreshments will be served as well as an attractive surrounding with the latest choice of art works from Lower Saxon ateliers. The exhibition which carries the title “Niedersachsen Wahl” welcomes the visitors with a wide spectrum of temporary art. The artworks of the participating artists can be auctioned at the end of the exhibition.

The “Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur”, an association which sponsors art and culture, is strengthening with its future works the cultural facilities Kunsthalle Faust. It also initiates (location-) independent projects. Therefore, the association uses the work already done by Harro Schmidt who is the director of “Kunsthalle Faust” and cultivates numerous connections all around the world. This is also the reason why Harro Schmidt was elected to be the head of the “Kunstverein Kunsthalle Hannover e.V.” Susanne Hoffmann, Ekkehard Kähne and Anna Grunemann are further members of the management committee.

The strengthening of the Lower-Saxon art-scene and the building of close inner connection represent the center of the new “Kunstverein“s activities. Besides, the preservation and promotion of Kunsthalle Faust as a central location for exhibitions and extraordinary possibilities with a special kind of charm has an important relevance.

All these points considered, “Kunstverein Kunsthalle Hannover e.V.” ties in with the previous program and the outstanding attribute of the Kunsthalle: The Kunstverein will continue working on art projects which bound to town twinning, intercultural dialogue-platform for sponsoring young Lower-Saxon artists, large-scale projects in public space and theme-exhibitions in cooperation with further Hanover exhibition-places such as the Galerie Kubus. The presentation and exchange between Lower-Saxon artists throughout Germany and in a European and international context helps pushing the kudos and also the positive recognition by Lower Saxony and its capital Hanover. Long-term aims are the formation of an exciting and innovative year-program, meaning Faust as a place for exhibitions and its temporary extension in public space in Hanover.
